Why I love this:
It was the first time Cosmopolitan featured only men on the cover since 2001. Chase Stokes, Jonathan Daviss, Drew Starkey, and Rudy Pankow for Cosmopolitan magazine were a joy to work with.

03. Airbnb Magazine Launch
Airbnb Magazine celebrated humanity wherever it exists: across borders, time zones, languages, and skin tones. I lead the creative team for 4 years.
This was a project commissioned by Airbnb founder and CEO Brian Chesky who had a personal interest in building a print magazine for all hosts to have in their Airbnb properties. Having a distribution of 3 million+ across the Airbnb worldwide network, this was a special project that had wide distribution quickly. Bringing this to life from idea to execution for one of the fastest growing companies in tech and hospitality is something I’ll forever cherish. Lots of pressure and lots of eyes; my team exceeded expectations.
Mallory Roynon is an award-winning creative director and brand builder. She spends her time between Brooklyn, NYC and Upstate.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR
Mallory Roynon is a creative director and brand visionary with a track record of transforming iconic media brands for modern audiences. Most recently, she led the rebrand of Playboy, redefining its visual identity and positioning for a new era. Prior to that, she spent over three years as Creative Director of Cosmopolitan, serving as a central force in ushering the brand into the next millennium. Under her leadership, Cosmo underwent a comprehensive redesign that reimagined its voice, visuals, and cultural relevance for the modern woman.
Her work has been widely recognized, earning Society of Publication Designers Gold and Silver Medals for Best Redesign and Best Women’s Lifestyle Category, Hearst Excellence Awards for Best Redesign, multiple Art Directors Club honors, American Illustration and American Photography awards, and Portfolio Magazine’s Rising Star distinction, among others. Previously, as Design Director at Elle Decor, she commissioned an iconic cover now in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution.
Earlier in her career, Mallory was part of the founding team that imagined and launched Airbnb Magazine, helping shape the visual world of a global hospitality brand entering print for the first time.
With experience spanning Cosmopolitan, Playboy, Elle Decor, Airbnb Magazine, Good Housekeeping, WWD, and Esquire, Mallory has risen from graphic designer to creative director through a combination of strategic thinking, editorial instinct, and sharp visual execution.
She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Bowling Green State University. Mallory thrives on partnering with ambitious brands to build compelling identities and cultural presence across print, digital, social, and integrated campaigns.
